"They said...If I provided the place, you could and would all come"
To the people of ancient Assyria she was Ishtar.
To the Masai people she was Nambi.
The Syrians called her Qadesh.
The Hindus pray to Urvasi for success in their love affairs.
To the Irish she was Branwen.
To the Romans she was Venus.
And, to the Greeks she was Aphrodite.
Aphrodite's Toy Box is the brainchild of Raye Andrews, a woman of formidable will, who not only saw, but felt the need for a place in the Atlanta metropolitan area where women could find the things they need to fulfill the erotic aspects of their lives. "We Provide Needful Things For ALL Intimate And Romantic Occasions" is more than our tagline. It sums up our reason for being. At Aphrodite's Toy Box we strive for our guests to have a satisfying shopping experience that will lead to a deeper satisfaction in their lives.
Raye has lived in the Atlanta area since 1982. In that time she traveled extensively and saw that there were few businesses that cater to the specific sensual and erotic needs of women. The women of Atlanta, their partners, and friends deserved such a place. It would be a place where women could purchase items that would help them realize their fantasies. It would be a place where they could take classes to enhance their sexual/sensual power and learn to guard their sexual health. It would be a fun place, comfortable, and safe: a place where women could ask questions related to sexual fulfillment and get matter-of-fact and often humorous answers.
Her vision took real form on November 20, 2004 when we opened our doors for the first time.
The staff of Aphrodite's Toy Box welcomes you to our website. And, we'd love to welcome you into our store on North Decatur Road.
On behalf of

Always remember to take time for satisfaction.
"The erotic is not a question only of what we do. It is a question of how acutely and fully we can feel in the doing. For once we know the extent to which we are capable of feeling that sense of satisfaction and fullness and completion, we can then observe which…life endeavors brings us closest to that fullness. …Within the celebration of the erotic…work becomes a conscious decision - a longed-for bed which I enter gratefully and from which I rise up empowered."
